Stonebwoy’s Speech On The Press Conference.

Stonebwoy, a multi-award-winning Ghanaian dancehall performer, has expressed his thanks after being signed by Def Jam Recordings, a subsidiary of Universal Music Group, earlier this week.

Stonebwoy said he was overwhelmed by the massive signing and thanked God and Ghanaians for their unwavering support over the years at a press conference held at the Movenpick Ambassador Hotel on Thursday, May 5.

To be honest, I am a man of few words but a man of action. We’ve gone a long way from Ashaiman’s streets. I owe everything to Ghana and my team; this is my trip, and I’m taking it with everyone’s help and prayers.

“In my field, my accomplishments cannot be credited to me; the credit belongs to Ghana and its people.” He stated, “We’re heading to the next level.”

Stonebwoy also took the opportunity to thank his teammates for their unwavering support.

“For all of Stonebwoy‘s accomplishments, there are a lot of invincible faces.

“I owe every member of my staff a debt of gratitude for the sleepless nights and tireless efforts.”

“We’ve been working on this agreement since 2017, so it’s a major deal. We’ve been at it for five years.”

“Let’s work together to get this done, as we’ve seen our Nigerian brothers and sisters do.” “This is a win for everyone,” he said.

Martin Addo, a key member of Stonebwoy’s management team, stated that the team is driving the Stonebwoy brand to new heights.

“This whole deal is about Stone thinking about how he can make a great impact with his music globally.”

“We’re working around the clock to make sure this works; I believe he’ll make a tremendous difference, and we’re all behind him,” he said

Def Jam Africa is represented by Lerato Masepe, who was visibly delighted about the agreement.

“Stonebwoy has unquestionably had a significant influence in Ghana and on the African continent, so it’s about time we took his craft global, which is why we’re thrilled to have him on board.”

“With this signing, we’re going all out, and we can’t afford to fail.”

“Universal Music Group (UMG) label divisions Def Jam Recordings, 0207 Def Jam, and Def Jam Africa are thrilled to announce the global signing of Ghanaian Afropop, Dancehall, and beloved Reggae musician and pioneer, Stonebwoy to the global Def Jam artist family,” according to a press release announcing Stonebwoy’s signing on May 3, 2022.

“Def Jam Africa will represent his music in Africa, while Def Jam Recordings will serve as his label home in the United States, with 0207 Def Jam providing support in the United Kingdom.

“This collaboration between labels exemplifies UMG’s worldwide dedication to bringing Stonebwoy’s diverse style and Ghanaian music culture to new audiences.”
