Def Jam Recordings Africa made a powerful debut on the continent last year signing some of Universal Music’s brightest hip-hop stars and now, they’ve made their first signing of the year as they officially welcome Lucasraps to their roster.

The news broke during a virtual press conference which saw the ‘Slide’ hitmaker get real about his career to industry giant Slikour. The single, which is quickly making waves, serves as the lead single off the star’s upcoming body of work titled ‘031 To The World’ which drops on 1 October.

“I’ve been working on this project since 2018. Discarding what I didn’t like, improving on what I did & accommodating the dynamic growth that contributed to the development of my sound. This is only the beginning,” Lucasraps says.

The signing is an exciting moment in the rapper’s career and we cannot wait to see what he has up his sleeve with his new material.
